Procedure
1. Get all your materials set out on a flat surface.
2. Pour 3/4 of a cup of water into the one liter bottle
3. Use a funnel to slowly pour vegetable or olive oil ( it wont make a difference) into the bottle until its almost full. You may have to wait a few minutes for the water and oil to separate.
4. Add ten drops of food coloring to the one liter bottle (I prefer red, but any color will work.) The drops will pass through the oil and water below.
5. Break a fizz tablet in half and drop the half tablet into the one liter bottle. Watch it as it sinks to the bottom and let the blobby awesomeness begin!
6. To keep the effect going, just add another half tablet. For a true lava lamp effect, shine a flashlight through the bottom of the bottle.
7. Repeat steps two through six, but with a two liter bottle instead of a one liter one.
8. Once the blobs drop to the bottom using a centimeter ruler measure the height of the blobs. Finally compare the height of both the blobs, one in the one liter bottle, and one in the two liter bottle.
9. Now record your results.
